Camera Packages (May 2009)
Camera installations vary from a simple procedure to a complex network design depending on the type of camera system(s) necessary for your property. WatchTheDeer.com has a complex camera network due to the amount of images we receive each day and the multiple locations of our cameras.
Remote controllable Cellular Internet cameras systems from $1,650.00!
NOTE: We host live cameras for commercial applications with private/public web pages starting at $25/month.
Celllular Internet Camera information - Internet connection supplied by AirCard (Verizon, Sprint) for laptops.
1. T type system $1,650.00 with Pan Tilt Zoom Camera 2.6x zoom. Camera is a 5by5by5 inch cube and easily hidden. Remote access and controlable depending on internet speeds. Here is a picture of one set up with solar cells. Here is another picture.
2. S type system $3,300.00 with Pan Tilt Zoom 25x zoom camera. Camera is mounted in a dome. Remote access and controlable depending on the internet speeds.
Notes on Cellular System: All prices subject to sales tax and shipping charges)
a. You supply the battery ...deep cycle marine is best, and the Verizon/Sprint/ AirCard or equalivent. That is how we do the internet connection. No, no laptop is necessary. The AirCard is inserted into a special router instead. NOTE: AT&T card users please call us, additional costs due to AT&T systems add about $150 to the system price and you CANNOT REMOTELY CONTROL THE CAMERA if you use AT&T! Yes, AT&T blocks those control ports. Go ask them.
b. Non Commercial applications- We will host your images from the camera for three months Free! After that, $25/month. Our celllular camera sends images every 15 seconds via the cellular system. This translates into about 3200 pictures from 6:30 am until 8:00pm in southwest Georgia daylight hours.
c. Yes, solar cells will make a big different on how long the battery last. Four solar cells and a controller (60watts total from the cells) cost $550.00.
More questions, call us. We only get 150,000 pictures every DAY so we know how to do this very well.
However, your installation can be very simple. Please read this information carefully. We have experience with networking, cabling, wireless, and more! Please call or email us with your questions.
Camera installation highlights:
- Depending on your Internet connection, you can remotely control cameras from anywhere in the WORLD!
- Cameras can send images via the Internet to anywhere in the WORLD, even while you are controlling it.
- Wireless access comes in two distinct forms:
- Local – which simply means the local network, close to the cameras. Depending on the cabling, close may mean 10 yards, 100 yards, or a mile.
- Long-range Cell Internet systems - This system where you don't have any power or internet access, way out in the county!
- Images can be sent directly to our servers; the images can be visible online for the public or restricted for private viewing.
- Cables can be buried, run above ground, or run through a PVC pipe.
- Solar power systems are fine to use with batteries. Generally, these systems cannot be remotely controlled because they do not have proper Internet access. See a picture of our completely solar powered cellular system here, another view here.
- Satellite Internet access is easy and works well. We have a mobile satellite system on a trailer…please ask more about this system.
- Cameras can have a memory card to store images (but it's better to send images somewhere else.)
- You will need a static IP address on the Internet at the camera to remotely control cameras from anywhere in the world. The upload speed of your Internet connection is the most important – to control one camera, you need a minimum of 128K bits.
- With a direct Internet connection, you can receive images every second (or better!)
- When locally connected to the camera, you typically get 15-25 images per second. It's just like video.
Please select what fits your needs below. You may have different needs for different cameras. We have solutions, and actual cameras, in all the situations described below.
All systems require a camera, mounting pole, equipment box, and dome. (Unless you choose the standard camera system that includes the dome in pricing.) The power cord and network cable included will extend about 15 feet from the camera.
Note: We encourage you to mix-and-match from the arrangements listed below. Common systems may have one camera very close to a central location (with power and internet) and other cameras located at varying distances.
Do you have power and Internet access within 100 yards of the camera(s) locations? If yes, this is the easiest solution. All you will need is the camera, dome, mounting pole (attaché via zip ties to a tree or put in the ground), lighting protectors for power and network cable, network cable, and a switch at both ends possibly. You can just throw the power cable on the ground or put it and the network cable in PVC pipe. IF you have direct line of site, wireless can work also. This is only a local wireless system for the camera connection.
Do you have power but no Internet access within 100 yards of the camera(s) locations? If Internet access is not available but you do have power, the cellular remote system will work for you. You will not need the batteries or solar cells since you have a power source. Please refer to the Cellular remote system for more information.
Will your cameras be over 100 yards but less than 325 yards from a ‘central location'? Traditional network cable will carry signals about 100 yards before it looses the signal. We have a simple solution for running one power cable with the network signal up to about 325 yards. Sometimes we go much further than 325 yards depending on the power cable and connections. Our S102, S107 and T105 cameras use this type of connection.
Will your camera(s) be over 325 yards from a central location? We have several camera systems that are a long distance from our central site (S104, S103 cameras). This means you must have LAN amplifiers (about $450 a pair.) An amplifier will be on each end and support a distance of over a mile using cat 5 network cable. (Cat 5 network cable is very inexpensive.)
Do you have absolutely no power or Internet anywhere near your camera location? This is the ultimate remote system. Our cellular remote solar powered system will send images and can run 24 hours a day. We use a Verizon, Cingular, or Sprint PC cards in a special device for the Internet access. You must have a signal with one of the cellular companies for this to work. There are monthly fees for the PC card from the cellular companies.
We normally use the standard camera system due to power demands on these systems. Our S111 is this exact type of solar cell recharging a battery using the cellular PC card for Internet access.
Satellite Trailer Systems - Our portable satellite camera system is an example of this option. The camera is mounted on a dual axle trailer with a hydraulic lift to raise the camera about 9 feet. Batteries provide power and a generator switches on when the batteries get too low. Images are transmitted to our web site, but you can remotely control the camera from anywhere in the world. Satellite systems start around $10,000 and rapidly go up.
If you would like more information about any of these systems, please call or email us today.
